Basic Salary R4000pm plus allowances
Must be available to work night shifts and some weekends (24hr Control Room)
Must be certified Basic Ambulance Assistant.
Receive emergency and non-emergency calls and messages from the public, medical and corporate sectors.
Additional languages extremely beneficial.
Dispatch agencies or units who can provide assistance to the right address after highlighting the importance of the situation.
Prioritize calls and dispatches based on their priority.
Maintain knowledge of the location and the status of various emergency support personnel.
Create accurate logs of all communications that have been undertaken.
Maintain files and records.
Maintain confidentiality of all the information dealt with.
Submit progress reports on trainees, provide on-the-job training for other dispatchers and stay informed of all departmental regulations and procedures.
Skill in multi-tasking - coordinating simultaneous mental, manual and visual activities.
Skilled in observing situations analytically and objectively and relaying details accurately.
Ability to operate a variety of communications equipment effectively.
Ability to utilize technology such as computers, fax/copy machines
Knowledge of Outlook, Word, Excel.
Emergency Control Room Operator experience preferred.
Must demonstrative alertness and intuitiveness.
Ability to work under pressure.
