Flight/ Ambulance Doctor

Role Overview 
The primary role of the Flight and Coordinating Doctor is to perform Air Ambulance and commercial medical transports as per the on call roster and to provide remote medical staffing support.
Duties will include:
•Perform Air Ambulance medical transports

•Act as Medical Escort on commercial carriers
•Performing the daily transmission medical tasks for cases
•Perform telephonic support to off-site medical personnel
•Manage Road- and Air Ambulance Transfers
•Provide medical recommendations for mode of transport and level of care provided
•Work closely with the operations manager and logistics coordinating staff
•Function in the Assistance centre as the medical coordinator
Education:
•Tertiary qualification as a medical doctor
•HPCSA - Independent Practice
•Dip PEC or DA preferable
•Advanced life support courses (ACLS, PALS, ATLS, ANLS)
Experience:

•Completed internship coupled with post tertiary experience
•Strong ICU, Emergency and Trauma back ground
•Aviation medicine - advantageous
Skills / Knowledge:

•Able to work under pressure and deliver results to deadlines
•Be independent and firm, at same time a team player
•Good interpersonal skills to work in the team
Languages:

•Excellent written and spoken English
•European languages would be an advantage

Wage/Salary: R65 000 + Benefits (60% medical aid and pension fund)
