Paramedic

Location: Mpumalanga Evander

Mastery Placement Services is currently seeking a PARAMEDIC for one of our clients in Mpumalanga.


Key Performance Areas
Attend to all medical emergencies which might arise within the shaft and surrounding areas.
Respond to all medical emergencies and injuries immediately underground.
Provide medical emergencies to all injured and sick employees, including resuscitation as per intermediate qualification and advice mine employees and shaft management.
Ensure that injured and sick employees are transported safely to the shaft bank.
Ensure that all injuries are recorded and reported immediately to the shaft bank and mine overseers.
Daily update the underground medical emergencies and injury register
Maintaining the level of underground first aid station – Housekeeping.
Ensure that the mine health and safety policies are compliant with.

KNOWLEDGE / SKILLS
Must have excellent written and verbal communication skills
Must have excellent interpersonal skills
Computer packages e.g. MS Word, Excel, Power Point
A sound working knowledge of relevant legislation especially the Health legislations.
Good understanding on Medical and basic first aid requirements.


EXPERIENCE
Previous experience in a similar environment with at least 2 years as a Paramedic.

QUALIFICATIONS
Grade 12 or equivalent qualification
Intermediate Life Support (ATLS being an advantage)
Registered with Health professional council of South Africa

REPORTING STRUCTURE
This position is directly responsible to the Mine’s Dr and Chief Safety Officer.

PERSONAL CIRCUMSTANCES
Must be able to obtain a satisfactory medical report from the mine medical station required to work additional hours from time to time
Must have own transport with required licence
