Vuza Medical is Vuza Medical is seeking to employ a Basic Life Support Paramedic.
Requirements:
o Matric, Relevant Qualification or Experience as a Basic Life Support Paramedic; Computer literacy (MS Office), Good interpersonal relations; Attention to Detail; Good Written and Oral Communication Skills, Current registration with HPCSA, Unendorsed Driver’s Licence with PDP
Duties:
o Undertake vehicle and equipment checks – Report discrepancies if noted.
o Responding to calls for medical assistance at accidents, emergencies and/or other related incidents, usually in an ambulance aligned.
o Liaising with members of other emergency services, such as the police, fire brigade and other ambulance services to ensure the appropriate level of response is provided.
o Evaluate a patient’s condition in order to determine the right course of treatment and identify the need for escalation
o Aid in the transfer of patients to the emergency units of hospitals.
o Keep the equipment clean after use; check and replace damaged and used supplies.
o Decontaminate the interior of the ambulance if it is used to transport a patient suffering from a contagious disease e.g. meningitis.
o Driving and crewing an ambulance or other rapid response vehicle.
o Cleaning, decontaminating and checking vehicles and equipment to maintain a state of operational readiness.
o Maintain clean working environment in and out of base. o Take care of vehicles, furniture and equipment.
o Under take control room duties when called upon to do so.
o Keep uniform clean and undertake good personal grooming.
o Always be presentable to public and clients.
o Ensure that personal safety is maintained at all times and that of crew and patient.
o Undertake the necessity to lift and move patients safely.
o Undertake the responsibility to drive company vehicle safely and in alliance to Road Traffic Ordinance Act
o Have temperament to deal professionally with other health care personnel; disabled; disadvantaged; sick and injure persons
