Paramedic Aircrew Wiltshire NHS UK

Great Western Ambulance Service NHS Trust provides emergency and urgent care, and patient transport services across Wiltshire, Gloucestershire and the former Avon area. The Trust employs more than 1,700 staff across 33 operational sites - 30 ambulance stations and 3 emergency operations centres - and in its headquarters. Last year (2010-11), GWAS responded to more than 264,000 emergency calls. The trust covers an area of 3,000 square miles with a population of almost 2.4 million people.

An opportunity has arisen to recruit two, Paramedic's within the Air Support Unit based in Devizes.

Applicants must be able to demonstrate that they are:
• Adept at navigational skills
• Quick-thinking and reliable
• Proactive and flexible
• An experienced team player
• Physically fit
• Paramedic for minimum 2 years post qualifying experience on full range of duties
• Able to demonstrate previous commitment to the Air Ambulance Charitable Trust, through an association with the charity.

Successful candidates will need to be available to attend Observer training within tight timescales. Sickness and conduct records will be taken into consideration when short listing as per Trust Policy.

Closing Date: Wednesday 11 April 2012 and you will be contacted by email on the 12 or 13 April if you have been shortlisted to attend the assessment which will be held on 16 and 17 April. This includes a fitness test (20m shuttle run & a push/pull test), an Occupational Health appointment and if successful an appointment with the Flight Medical Advisor.
