Emergency Medical Rescue Services College (Orkney)
Requirements: • Successful completion of the following courses or obtaining one of the following qualifications that allows registration with the Health Professions Council of South Africa as Paramedic: Critical Care Assistance (CCA) Programme or Recognised National Diploma OR successful completion of the following qualification that allows registration with the Health Professions Council of South Africa as Emergency Care Practitioner (ECP): Recognised BTech degree • Minimum of 3 years after registration with the Health Professions Council of South Africa as Paramedic or Emergency Care Practitioner • Current proof of registration with the Health Professions Council of South Africa as Paramedic or Emergency Care Practitioner • Experience in the management of staff, finance, and workload • Unendorsed valid driver's licence.
Recommendation: Experience as a lecturer in an EMRS environment.
Competencies: • Highly competent, enthusiastic and knowledgeable practitioner to manage the EMS Training College • Knowledge of Advanced Medical Rescue • Knowledge of the Emergency Care Technician programme • Knowledge of rules and regulations of Road and Traffic ordinance • Good facilitation and communication skills • Knowledge of practical patient management • Ability to implement emergency procedures • Ability to work under pressure.
Duties: • Be responsible for all EMS training activities in the Province • Ensure programmes are in place to meet CPD requirement of staff • Implement training programmes on all aspects of quality management • Ensure proper control and inventory management of all training resources in the Province, including that of training fleet
• Inculcate a healthy and safe environment in the EMRS training environment, and ensure continuous improvement • Undertake any other duties as allocated by the supervisor/s, in the interests of pursuing the departmental strategy.
