Hospital Pre-Certification Agent – Newlands, Cape Town

Salary: R 12 000 – R 15 000 per month CTC

Candidate with medical qualification (Professional Nurse/Enrolled Nurse), required to assist in call centre environment, to liaise with members, doctors and hospitals regarding medical scheme membership and authorizing medical procedures.

Minimum requirements:

• Matric
• Medical qualification essential – Enrolled/Professional Nurse
• Minimum 3-5 years current medical scheme administration experience or medical practice background experience preferred, but not essential
• Call centre experience advantageous, but not essential
• Computer literate

Responsibilities:

• Telephonically establish member eligibility for in-hospital benefits prior to admission
• Evaluating medical necessity of admissions
• Liaise with hospitals, members and doctors re medical scheme benefits
• Handle queries relating to case management and medical claims

• Excellent communication and telephone skills
• Attention to detail
• Ability to work accurately and thoroughly
• Adaptability to new challenges
