A vacancy exists for an Intermediate Life Support Medic within the Operations division of Quemic (Pty) Ltd.
Reports to: Project Manager
Location: Vaalwater
Job Purpose:
To provide basic and advanced life support and emergency medical techniques to those in need of assistance. To operate and maintain the assigned ambulance and worksite.
Main Duties and responsibilities are:
Perform triage and a variety of emergency medical treatments at the Basic and Intermediate Life support level.
Provide continuing care and treatment while enroute to an emergency medical facility, monitor and report changes in patient condition.
Drive the ambulance to emergency scenes, transport accident victims and medical patients to hospitals.
Communicate effectively with operations management and support health personnel.
Assist and coordinate with other external emergency service agencies in rescue operations, motor vehicle accidents and other emergency situations.
Handle radio communications during emergency and non-emergency situations professionally.
Keep records and logs on daily activities.
Ensure safe lifting and moving techniques.
Maintain ambulance vehicle, equipment and station.
Collaborate with Regional and Head Office management on business development strategy and outcomes.
Perform administrative duties documenting activities, submission of reports, managing files and records.
Provide weekly activity reports to the Project Manager or Regional Manager as required.
The qualifying requirements are:
Grade 12 certificate.
Minimum of 3-5 years of experience as a paramedic operational in South Africa.
Clear criminal and credit record.
Valid driver’s license.
Strong written and verbal communication skills.
Ability to interact successfully with employees and clients.
Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
Computer literate with demonstrated skill in Microsoft Office suite, and other related business systems.
Proficient in English and Afrikaans.
Other Preferred Qualifications:
Paramedic experience in the Vaalwater or Hoedspruit areas.
Demonstrated experience as a manager in the medical field as a paramedic.
Familiarity with the security sector.

Excellent communication skills
Able to work flexible hours
