Salary: ILS: R98 376– R174 252 per annum
ECT: R121 176 - R196 299 per annum (Ref. H12/06)
Requirements:
AEA or ECT qualification
Registered with the HPCSA
Valid Code 10 driver's licence
Valid PRDP.
Competencies:
Knowledge of BLS. ILS and ALS protocols
Understanding EMS and its line of business
Understanding the effects of flight physiology
Safe aviation operation
Knowledge of EMS Fixed Wing operations, SOP and legislation
Knowledge of Basic Medical Rescue
Knowledge of rules and regulations of Road and Traffic ordinance
Communication skills
Practical patient management
Ability to implement emergency procedures
Ability to work under pressure
Create landing zones/night strips and educate the uniformed
Cross-cultural awareness
Interpersonal sensitivity and thoroughness
Interpersonal patience, tolerance and empathy
Honesty and positive approach.
Duties:
Treat patients in accordance with ILS/ECT protocols and transport patients to hospital from scene and between hospitals in accordance with the relevant protocols
Maintain best clinical practices in accordance with quality standards
Abide by the Standing Operational Procedures and other EMS policies
Maintain accurate and reliable records at all times
Participate and provide in-service training
Assume responsibility for the security of the vehicle and aircraft equipment
Treat and escort patient on all flights
Hand over the aircraft/vehicle and equipment to the next shift fully replenished, clean and in good working order
Respond to opportunities that enhance professional development (eg in-service training, attend workshops, forum meetings and update staff accordingly)
Undertake any other duties as allocated by the Manager/Service Coordinator.
