Introduction
Pulse Point is a well established company that specializes in training people in CPR and First Aid skills. We have been training for over 5 years, we are looking for a person to teach our Pulse Point courses, including
assessing of the students on the courses. Our courses are fun, interactive and memorable. We believe everyone should know how to help when something goes wrong.

Minimum Requirements
Own car and drivers license.
Basic Ambulance Attendant (BLS) or Advanced Emergency Assistant (ILS) or Critical Care Assistant (ALS) qualification
Valid Health Practitioners Council or Nursing Registration (if applicable.)
Anatomy and physiology knowledge.

Title: Training Co-ordinator
Reports to: Training Manager and Directors.
Based at: Delarey, Roodepoort (Close to the Gordon Road Offramp).

Key Responsibilities:
To teach First Aid and CPR courses to clients of the company.
To Travel to the client’s premises to teach. (Some training is held at the Pulse Point office.)
To assess / test the first aid students at the First Aid courses. (Where applicable)
Interact with students from a wide variety of backgrounds, cultures and education levels.
Collecting and returning of relevant teaching equipment to the Pulse Point Office.
Completing related course work forms and documents.
Attend training in order to develop relevant knowledge and skills.
Monitor and report on the courses activities and provide relevant feedback.
Assist with the development of course improvements and developments.
Preparation & clearing of the training venue before and after courses.

Person-profile: Training Coordinator (Job Requirements)
Personality: We are looking for a friendly, adaptable, organized Trainer. Ideally they should have good communication and people skills. The candidate must be self motivated, willing to learn, enthusiastic, outgoing, fun, decisive personality these attributes will complement our company very well. They should be able to empathize well, be willing to learn and try new things, as well as be punctual, and energetic.
Personal Situation: The candidate must have a valid current driver’s license, with their own transport. They should be able to commute reliably to office base and to clients. They may at times be required to work extended hours, and will be compensated (paid overtime at 150%).
Specific Job Skills: Candidates who have a background as a medical professional will be preferred. They need to have an understanding of the principles of First Aid, anatomy and physiology, efficient up to date medical care. They must be able to communicate effectively to large or small groups of people. The capacity to keep up communication via e-mail. The willingness to uphold Pulse Point’s excellent standard of teaching and course material, and to work with the consistency within company's methodologies of teaching the related course material. Experience as a teacher (or in a Training / Facilitator) capacity will be very useful to this line of work.
Computer Skills: Must be adept in use of MS Office 2003 or more recent versions, particularly Power point, Excel and Word. Skills with Internet and Email are preferable.
Literacy and Numeracy: Basic math skills essential, Medical professional background essential. (Paramedic is preferable, others may be considered)
Management Ability: Though internal staff management is not initially part of the job, responsibility; there is the capacity to grow and develop within the company (for example the training and mentoring of new instructors / trainers.)

Qualifying criteria

Advantageous: Prior training and/or teaching experience. Additional training related to emergency care or occupational health and safety
Recommended: Live in close proximity to Delarey, Florida

Hours, location & compensation:
45 Hours per week with two positions are available:
Position 1 - Monday – Friday with 2 Saturdays a month. (Saturdays are overtime rate 150%).
Position 2 - Tuesday – Saturday (Mondays are off).
Location of work will vary. Training is generally in JHB but sometimes also in Pretoria, Centurion & Midrand (Off site Travel expenses will be covered.), or occasionally at our Office in Delarey, Roodepoort
Salary Expectations below – Excludes an approximate R1000 travel reimbursement (This is dependent on distance travelled to clients)
Salary - 1st 6 months :

Position 1 :
Basic: R8500 per month
Overtime: R1214 per month (2 Saturdays / Month)
Total: R9714 per month

Position 2 :
Basic: R9310 per month
Salary - After 6 months : (This is dependent on courses which can be trained by instructor, growth of instructor, achievements, milestones etc)

Position 1 :
Basic: R9500 per month
Overtime: R1357per month (2 Saturdays / Month)
Total: R10 857 per month

Position 2 :
Basic: R10 405 per month


Possible within 3 – 5 years : (This is dependent on courses which can be trained by instructor, growth of instructor, achievements, milestones etc)
Position 1 :
Basic: R13 500 per month
Overtime: R1929 per month (2 Saturdays / Month)
Total: R15 429 per month
Position 2 :
Basic: R14 786 per month
